Busy and school problems

I have not blogged at all since the first day of school. There is one reason, and one reason only! LOL!! I have been soooo incredibly busy! WOW!! There has been so much to do! 3 kids!! Homework. Driving them to and from school. Homework! Making lunches. Football. Cooking dinner. Homework!. All while trying to maintain the house AND my sanity!!

It's going well so far. We've had a few up's and down's (LOL!!! cause that is the title of my blog!)

Mainly our biggest problem has been Logan. He's not doing as well at school as we would like. He tells us lies, or half-truths. He throws a fit when we try to help him and when it is time for him to do extra work. He has a few times seen how wise we are, and admitted that we are actually helping him. But then in the next breath he can be pitching a fit cause we ask him to write his spelling words again. Ugh!!! It has been a challenge. Most of my entire afternoons are taken up helping him. Or getting angry cause he does not want my help, and he's pitching another fit. It is not even really a fit. It is just major attitude. More than I deserve. A few times, I have blown up and said, "Fine! If you don't want my help, then I won't give it. ...etc...."

Our biggest thing with him, besides trying to help him with his cursive writing, is this reading program that they have at his school. It's called AR...which stands for Accelerated Reader. He is suppose to read a book, and then take a computer generated test on it. Logan, with the first book, began to read the book, and then decided he did not like the book, so he went and took the test on it! He got one question right!! We found out about it, and actually got the teacher to allow us to have him read the book again, and take a new test with it (she removed the original test score) Well, he thought he'd be smart (cause I said that maybe we needed to see if they had him at the right reading level) and he went and asked the teacher to put him to a lower level. She did! Without checking with us! (don't get me started on that) Somewhere in all of this he takes another test on the same book...only to get 3 questions right this time! Then he did really well on a book that I helped him with. I read it and made up quiz questions for him. He got 9 out of the 10 right (I wrote 21 and 7 of them happened to be on his quiz!) But then he went and got another book. Again he sped through reading it, and took the test. I was going to do another quiz, but he did not give me a chance. He has no clue how he did this time. I am assuming he did not do well, and he knows it. So he says he did not look at the score. I am sure he didn't. That way he did not have to lie to us, and he could say that he didn't know it.

Emi enjoys school. I've had no problem with her. The only thing with her is making sure she is occupied so that I can work with Logan. LOL!! She is an excellant student, and there is not much for her to do at home, except for spelling words.

William is focused on football. Too focused if you ask me. I will have to blog later about his football, the Jamboree and such. I fear that he is lying to us a lot too though. He "never" has homework, or if he does it always seems to be something that he remembers at the last moment. He's not doing well in one of his classes, and if he does not improve, he is going to have to give-up football. I (we)don't want to have to do that, but he has to learn that school comes first.

UGH!!! Like I said it's been a challenge! With lots of Up's and Down's!
